Summary

What's on this site and how the keeper rules work

Keeper Rules
  1. Base cost is one round earlier than where he was drafted. Drafted in the 3rd? Keeping him costs your 2nd. Drafted in the 8th? Costs your 7th.
  2. 1st-round picks can't be kept. Anyone taken in round 1 goes back into the draft pool. No exceptions, and this beats every other rule below.
  3. Two years is the limit. Once you've kept a guy two seasons running, he's done. Back in the pool.
  4. Traded players keep their original cost. If you traded for him, you pay one round earlier than wherever he was originally drafted — not a discount, not a penalty.
  5. Waiver pickups cost a 5th. Grabbed him off waivers or free agency? Flat 5th-round price — unless he was originally drafted in the top 4 rounds, in which case the normal one-round-earlier rule applies instead.
For example Jacory Croskey-Merritt was drafted by Post in the 4th, then ended up on Fito's roster. Because round 4 is inside the top 4, Fito pays a 3rd — not the flat 5th.
